It's been awhile. . .

I know, it's been awhile since I last posted. So, here I am. I'm about to go back to work after a long 6 weeks off. I've enjoyed the time off and in some way want to continue being "off". It's been nice having the house clean all the time and not rushing around to get dinner ready by 6:30 and spending time in the evenings as a family instead of doing the normal "chores". I am, however, ready to get back into some sort of routine, although I've enjoyed my "routine" of sleeping in until just before Derek leaves for work to get Jaxon ready to go to babyschool. We are beginning to feel the healing process begin. It's nice to not feel like we're hurting all of the time. We are going to Kansas City to the Nascar Race the weekend of Sept 27th. We're looking forward to it and we found a great hotel, we hope. (It looks nice online, let's just say that.) We're looking forward to a weekend away and some time along together. It's been a long time since we've been "alone" and "away". Jaxon is going to stay with his grandparents for the weekend. Here are a few pictures of him and his friend Carter playing in his "baseball bed". Can you see a sleepover coming soon? Carter's mom is expecting twins in December so I'm sure that Carter will have to come and stay with us some in the near future, or at least Jaxon hopes so anyways.

Many of you know that my son is an avid baseball fan. I don't know how he became such a big baseball fan but he is. Everynight he says, "I watch baseball." This morning he even woke up whispering, "I watch baseball." We've been to several games here in NWA so I guess that is where he got it. We're going to be in trouble when baseball season is over. Hopefully he'll love football as much or more than baseball. I'm glad that he likes baseball as most of you know I was a softball player in a former life. LOL!!! However, he is a lefty as you can see from the picture below and it's really hard to try to teach him how to do stuff, but he's a good imitator so hopefully he'll just learn everything from watching the pros on tv. He now says "Swing batter batter Swing" when someone is batting on tv or in real life. It's hilarious.
